Azerbaijan, Jordan discuss prospects for bilateral ties

Baku, April 26 (AzerTAc). Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov has today met a delegation led by President of the Jordanian Senate Abdelraouf al-Rawabdeh to discuss prospects for the bilateral ties.
Ogtay Asadov highlighted the bilateral ties between the two countries in a variety of fields.
The Azerbaijani Speaker lauded the role of the high level reciprocal visits and interparliamentary ties in strengthening the bilateral relations.
He also praised the relations in humanitarian and cultural fields, stressing the necessity of expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Azerbaijani Speaker noted that the Armenian armed forces had occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijani territories and over one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.
Asadov hailed Jordan`s supporting Azerbaijan’s just position on the dispute, adding the Jordanian Senate`s declaration on the Khojaly tragedy was a vivid evidence of it.
Rawabdeh lauded the bilateral bonds between Jordan and Azerbaijan.
He noted that Jordan supported Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, adding this position will remain unchanged.
